2pl list - Web Fax services

A 2pl file is a text document containing a list of 10-digit fax numbers.

You can attach a 2pl file to an email instead of placing fax numbers in the message body. This is an optional method and is not required in order to send faxes. Instructions on how to create a 2pl file are below.

  • Open any plain text editor, like Notepad for Windows 7
    Start - Programs - Accessories - Notepad
Notepad is located in Start > Programs > Accessories > Notepad
  • Copy (Ctrl+C) and paste (Ctrl+V) your list of numbers into Notepad, and save your list as a .txt file in a place where you can find it easily (Desktop or My Documents), then close Notepad.
  • Rename your text file's extension to .2pl instead of .txt
If you are unable to see the extension, view this page on how to display extensions.
  • Attach the .2pl file to your email and send it.

2pl Files are convenient when you frequently fax to a specific list, or when you need to copy a large amount of fax numbers from a Microsoft Excel sheet. There are other faxing uses for 2pl files as well. If you are only sending faxes to one or two numbers, then this method would not be the best for you.
